I update this darn thing. It just seems like I’ve been going non stop since my return from Florida. Let me tell you it was awesome. We had a blast. You can find pictures here. I’ll also put a link in the sidebar so if anyone ever wants to go back and look at them they can. We got there on Wednesday around 7 -8 pm EST and had left Seattle at around 7am PST so it was a long trip. We were able to get our luggage pretty quickly so that was nice and then Rick and Karen (our bosses) took us to dinner at a nice place called Bahama Breeze. The food was really good. (For those of you who didn’t know – my co-worker, traveling companion, and friend, Melissa went too so that’s who I’m referring to when I say ‘we’). After a nice but rather long meal they took us to our hotel (there’s a link in a previous post if your curious). It was really nice and had a great free breakfast buffet every morning. We went to the office on Thursday and had a meet and greet type of luncheon for anyone who wanted to come. We got to meet more people than I thought since we all mostly work at home. It was wonderful, good food, good people and just a neat experience overall. We went back to the office on Friday and actually got to get some work done that day. Afterwards Karen and Rick rented us a car so we could do our own thing over the weekend. Which of course being in Florida we had to go to Disneyland or The Magic Kingdom as it’s called there. We had mentioned that also to Karen and Rick and they were so sweet and bought us the tickets for the day! Needless to say we were spoiled.
So we went to the Magic Kingdom on Saturday and I finally got to meet Luanne. That was so great. I felt like I already knew her. It’s weird how you connect with people on line and then you meet them and it feels like you’re seeing an old friend after a long time. It was an awesome day. And to top it off Luanne invited us to come back on Sunday to go to Animal Kingdom. This time she brought another co-worker that we didn’t get to meet at the brunch, Sue. These ladies are the greatest people you’d ever meet. Thank you Luanne and Sue! I had so much fun hanging out and going on the rides with you. The only downfall was that the weekend went by so fast. I would have enjoyed a little more time to visit but in the end it worked out because I started to really miss the family at home.
On Monday we got up and went into the office again before we had to catch our plane (which didn’t leave until 4pm). We left the office around 11:30 and Karen took us to lunch and then dropped us off at the airport for our looooong trip back. I will make a long story short here – we were supposed to arrive home at 10:20 that night but because of bad weather in Houston we were grounded in Baton Rouge for almost 2 hours on the plane. So we missed our connecting flight and had to take a later one and didn’t end up getting home until 5:30am the next morning. It wasn’t a bad trip home just very very long.
Oh sorry I didn’t get any pictures of the office. I totally spaced with my camera there. It just never seemed like the right time.

We did have a great time didn’t we! I am glad I finally got to meet you and Melissa. You did a whirlwind work/visit and got just a little taste of Florida. Next time you will have to bring everyone so they can all enjoy the Florida sun. The flight isn’t usually such a killer going from east to west, that is such a bummer.
